Poem for toolmaker To be a machinist and mold metal by hand, is the greatest achievement of every man. To make machines with wheels and gears, which help to eliminate all of man’s fears. The machinist who molds metals by hand, is one of the great men of our land. It was probably he who made the first wheel, or assisted in laying the very first keel. Tis a great thing to be able to say, I helped mankind to advance in a small way. With the turn of the lathe and a good tool bit, he fashions metal parts that really will fit. Down through history man’s progress was measured, but the men who mold metal into things that are treasured. First it was wheels and simple machinery as such, then came the complicated Ariel Square Four and clutch.

Whilst dad was unable to talk he was able to communicate clearly. With crooking his finger to call Collette back when she said she was going, a nod of the head and definitely liked his food. The biggest thing everyone remembers from family, friends, staff at nursing home and particularly nurses at the hospital is his smile (as per the pictures). They all commented that he was no trouble and had a wonderful smile for them.
